RAYTOWN POLICE REMIND MOTORISTS THAT SUMMER SCHOOL WILL BE IN SESSION JUNE 9th THROUGH JULY 3rd, 2014.

The Raytown School District will be hosting Summer School again this year. Here is the list of schools inside the City of Raytown that will be in session:

Raytown South High School                8211 Sterling Ave.

Raytown South Middle School            8401 E. 83rd Street

Southwood Elementary                       8015 Raytown Road

Spring Valley Elementary                   8838 E. 83rd Street

During the hours of 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM school speed zones at the above schools will be enforced Monday through Friday while Summer School is in session.

Raytown Police are reminding motorists that the Raytown School District will be in session for Summer School and urge motorists to look out for the safety of our young pedestrians walking to schools and getting on and off school busses. Again, the school zones in Raytown are in force from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, when school is in session. In the interest of the safety of our children, Raytown Police will be enforcing these school speed zones. In addition to the normal fines for speeding, violations in a school zone carry an additional $50.00 penalty. It only takes a second for a child to run out into the road after a toy or windblown item and the results can be forever tragic. Please slow down and help us save lives.
