Murder charged in Raytown killing


A 25-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Monteario Hogan in Raytown on Oct. 24, 2014, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.


Malcolm D. Johnson, dob: 8/14/1989, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action.*


According to court records, Hogan was found lying outside a Family Dollar Store in the 5200 block of Blue Ridge Blvd in Raytown. Witnesses told Raytown Police that they observed Johnson shooting at the victim and get into a vehicle and leave at a high rate of speed.


Prosecutors have requested a bond of $250,000.


The charges against Johnson were filed earlier this month but not released until today. He was recently taken into custody.

    Great work RPD! Take the bad guys off the street. In my law enforcement experience the Raytown Police Department is one of the best managed and efficient departments I have seen!
