Raytown Police Department to Host Community Forum on Use of Force
Chief Jim Lynch of the Raytown Police Department is pleased to announce the Raytown Police Department’s Community Forum on Use of Force. The Community Forum will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Conference room at Raytown Fire Protection District’s Station #1, 6020 Raytown Trafficway, Raytown MO.
The Community Forum will include presentations by Raytown Police Officers utilizing video examples of various Use of Force incidences followed by question and answer sessions with forum attendees. The presenting officers will draw on personal experiences as well as utilizing the video presentations to portray real-world Use of Force incidences. Officers will also be taking questions from attendees concerning various aspects of the Raytown Police Department, its policies and operations, etc.
The Use of Force Community Forum follows the first Community Forum presented in April 2016 which focused on Traffic Stops. The Community Forum program is part of the Raytown Police Department’s focus on Community Engagement. The Community Forum program seeks not only to educate the public on police operations, but to be educated by the public by hearing their thoughts. The Community Forum program presentations are also available to Raytown businesses, church groups, and organizations for scheduling.
