Raytown Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy Scheduled to Begin September 2016

 

Chief Jim Lynch of the Raytown Police Department is pleased to announce the Raytown Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy will be held this fall on Wednesday evenings, 6:00pm to 8:30pm, from September 7 through November 9, 2016 in the Raytown Mid-Continent Public Library’s Meeting Room.

 

The Raytown Citizens Police Academy, offers citizens the opportunity to learn more about the operations, the officers, and the policies of the Raytown Police Department during the ten week, two and a half hour sessions on Wednesday nights. Topics presented include, but are not limited to, Crime Awareness, Crisis Negotiations, Role Playing in Traffic Stop Scenarios, Patrol Operations, Gangs and Narcotics, SWAT, and the FATS (Fire Arms Training Simulator) system which allows Academy attendees to engage in simulated fire arms training scenarios. The instructors for each course are the police officers and civilians that actually perform the work.

The Citizens Police Academy is limited to 20 attendees so early registration is highly suggested.
